REV. FR. WILFORD CARRINGTON, age 87 retired Chief Education Officer, passed away peacefully on Saturday 19th December 2015. He was the husband of Elva Carrington nee Mc Pherson, Father of Erna and Colville Carrrington, Dr. Elna Carrington-Blaides, Sherra Carrington-James, Eleanor Carrrington-Davis, and Elwin Carrington. Brother of Clarista (Sybil) Lamkin (Canada), Iscella Holder (USA), Eugene Carrington (deceased), Sylvia Baptiste and Sir Edwin Carrington former CARICOM Secretary General.
Grandfather of Akili Joseph, Chinaka Joseph-Hankinson, Jerrold, Ilya, Bryant and Rejeanne Carrington, Johann, Emerald, Levi, and Lana Blaides, Safiya, Treverra, and Teodor James, Christoph and Carissa Davis.
Uncle of Lynette and Glenda Edwards, Emile Baptiste and several others. Father-in-Law of Marcia Carrington, Marvin Blaides, Trevor James and Derick Davis. Brother-in-Law of Patricia Carrington. Relative of the Carrington, Nicholson, Phillips, McPherson and Melville families. Cousin and friend of many.
A Memorial Service for the late Rev. Fr. Wilford Carrington will take place at the Trinity Cathedral on Monday 28th December 2015 at 1:00 pm. The funeral Service takes place on Wednesday 30th December 2015 at 1:00 pm at the St Andrews Anglican Church, Scarborough, Tobago then to the church yard cemetery.
